This year Emmaus has served 407 new individuals and families for a total of 3193 sessions through the end of October. Your support helps us to provide much needed services to those that are uninsured and whose financial circumstances prevent them from being able to seek out counseling. Our desire at Emmaus Counseling Center is to be able to provide services without barriers to those that are seeking help. We need your help to complete this vision. The average cost of service for counseling is around $85 dollars per session (when you add paying the therapist and covering overhead). Your donation of $500 will allow an individual or a family to receive 6 sessions with a highly qualified professional therapist. Without your support people will fall into the underserved mental health needs of our community.
We also have other valuable projects that we would like to work on in the upcoming year: expanding consultation and mediation to churches, building support to clergy to guard against burn out and leaving the call, strengthening marriages through counseling and education, and helping parents to improve their skills and to connect more meaningfully with their children.
